She would be a great contact for those who have any questions about The Tuscany or about Las Vegas. Libvegas@yahoo.com LINK TO "Hotel Information".... LINK TO "Registration Information" Tuscany Suites Hotel & Casino Room Reservations: Cher Carey-Chu is on the reunion committee and also lives in Las Vegas so she will be another good source for local Las Vegas information. careyquilter@yahoo.com 2009 Reunion Greetings fellow Warriors: Wow! Can it be that time already? Yup it can and is. That special time every two years which we eagerly await to once again swarm enmasse upon the jewel in the desert, Las Vegas, to trip down memory lane to be amongst our dear and special friends from high school. This year’s event has the makings of one of our all time best. Economic conditions are such that we are able to secure rates that we haven’t seen since we started having reunions in Vegas back in 1999. That’s right, they’ve rolled back prices. The blue light is on. They are practically begging us to come! You will not be able to secure better rates at any of the online booking agencies. We’ve already got them and without the hassles. We will be enjoying the confines of the Tuscany Suites Hotel & Casino located just a 10 minute walk from the fabulous Strip. It was our thought and hope that by staging the reunion slightly away from the strip it would encourage the attendees to spend more time w/each other rather than go out on their own during the day only to meet during the functions. If you have been following the yhs website you should already know that Libby Blackstead has canvassed the place with her camera and has photos posted. The rooms are quite spacious. Standard rooms are approximately 650 sq ft and the suites are an incredible 1200 sq ft. That’s a party in and of itself. They come equipped w/coffe makers and refrigerators and microwaves are available upon request. You can also travel w/your soiled skivvies. They have washing machines on site. If you travel w/your soiled skivvies please advise me of your flt # so I can be sure not to be on that flight. This year we are pleased to add two additional events. First is our innagural bowling tournament. Yes, good old fashioned bowling. Something for all to enjoy whether as a spectator laughing or as a participant cursing at yet another gutter ball as you try to recapture the glory of days gone by. We are able to offer this exciting extravaganza at the low low price of $12 USD for three, count them, three games and shoe rental. Just where the heck are you going to get a deal like that these days? Please remember to bring socks...for everyone’s benefit. FYI, transportation to and from the event is up to each participant. No worries, there are plenty of taxi-vans to acommodate us all. We can also enlist/ask those who have driven to chip in. For our second event, Dan Iki has again generously offered to sacrifice his time and patience in his attempts to emulate Dancing with the Stars or in our case Dancing while Impaired. This fun event will take place on Saturday prior to the dinner/dance in the ballroom immediately after decorating. Thin skinned people are advised not to participate as Sgt Dan has been known to bring down even the mightiest with brutally honest criticisms. You’ve been warned.

********************************** As per our tradition we have again included the “Unofficial Kick-off“ mixer at a location to be announced on Thursday the 15th for all who happen to arrive early. Come and get your drink on and loosen those lips for all the stories soon to follow.
Friday is the official start with registration sign-in at the hospitality suite, sign-in times and suite # TBA. For those who wish to bowl (1200-1500hrs) sign in early so you don’t miss out on the fun. From 1800-2200hrs we have our cocktail reception/mixer, ballroom to be announced. Dress is casual and cameras are recommended. Cash bar with deli buffet.
Saturday morning is again reserved for registration sign-in at the hospitality suite. As previously mentioned ballroom decorating will be going on prior to the dinner/dance. This is strictly a volunteer event. Any and all volunteers are welcomed. We hope to get started around 1400hrs. Dance lessons to follow the decorating. The dinner/dance will commence at 1800hrs. Along with cocktails we have switched things up this year to include group photos so please be on time. We don’t want you to miss out on your “class photo“. Dinner to start at 1915 and end at approximately 2015 during which time we will also be raffling off gifts. We are targeting 2030 to get the tunes cranking and butts shaking. Last dance is at 0000hrs. Dress is casual, business casual, or dress to impress. Cameras are recommended and don’t forget your dancing shoes. Those who desire are encouraged to continue with the fun and frolic into the wee hours.
As with all reunions we encourage all to attend. Already we have had inquires from alumni whose appearances will be their first. I’m excited knowing that they are still out there and will be joining us. I know there are more of you out there. Come join us, you can do it.
Please have your registration and event fees paid on time. ON TIME!! We say this so that those who pay will not be inconvenienced in any way. I’m sure you all know that hotels require an exact head count for such events. The Tuscany is no exception. Don’t be a kill joy, pay on time. We don’t want to turn anyone away from the fun.
